Alumna Named as African Representative!

Rusa Divine was recently named as the Regional Advisor for Africa at the International Federation of Medical Student Association (IFMSA). The IFMSA is the largest student led organization in the world where medical students around the world meet to discuss, learn and grow. For the next year, Rusa will be heading the African department, working with internationals from the 5 world regions, in work with Sexual and Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS (SCORA).

The Future of Agriculture in Rwanda

In a twist of fate, Walla Walla Community College is lending a hand in helping to shape the future of Rwanda.

Since last spring Walla Walla has been home to seven Rwandan students: Eliane Wibabara, Grace Ingabire, Sarah Benimana, Sandrine Iradukunda, Ornella Usanase, Aline Uwase, and Ariane Kangabo.

All are enrolled at the college, studying soil science, irrigation technology, precision agriculture and water conservation. All seven are graduates of the Gashora Girl's Academy of Science and Technology near Kigali, Rwanda's capital city. Read the complete article here.

AT GGAST I became a fearless and confident woman with a mind for solving problems and thinking outside the box. At Gashora, I discovered my love for Biology and Chemistry which shaped me to find my way into medicine and aspire to be a doctor. I was given choices that broadened my thinking and showed me how to believe in myself.
