Our mission is to educate and empower girls of Rwanda to meet their highest potential.

At Gashora Girls Academy, the brightest minds of Rwanda are provided with opportunities to learn, grow, and lead — both inside and outside the classroom. These girls are becoming the future change-makers that our world needs.

It takes the combined dedication of teachers, mentors, administrators, volunteers, and donors to educate, support, and inspire the Gashora Girls. Our work in Rwanda is made possible by the generous supporters who contribute their time, talent, service, and resources. Will you join us?

My years at Gashora taught me two important lessons that have been serving me well at Columbia and life in general: 1.) Your past, specifically family and education background, do not determine your success. 2.) You cannot get there alone. You need other people, and you should always strive to be there for others. Success is a team effort.

— Gloria, GGAST 2018 and current student at Columbia University

Mentorship Makes a Difference

Mentorship/Alumnae Support

Gashora Girls Academy graduates are studying at 216 different universities in 30 countries across the world. They are majoring in fields ranging from engineering and physics, to biology and public health, to finance and more.

Are you an expert in one of these areas? Do you want to make a difference for a bold and brilliant young woman? Join our mentorship program to provide meaningful experience and advice to our alumnae on their academic journeys.

As a mentor, you will:

  • Promote academic success and build student confidence

  • Build transferable knowledge and discipline-based skills

  • Inform students about careers fields and disciplinary areas

  • Offer students the space to receive advice and counsel about college, such as positive aspects, how to succeed, potential pitfalls and misconceptions

Are you interested in becoming a mentor? If so, please fill out the form below and one of our team members will be in touch with you soon.

PROVIDE INTERNSHIP OR JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Hire an Alumna

Gashora Girls Academy graduates and college students are seeking internships and job opportunities around the world. Are you interested in cultivating a long-term partnership with our school to offer opportunities to these exceptional students?

If you would like more information or are ready to offer an internship or job opportunity at your company, please fill out the form below.

Please Note: While in school, students can work in an internship within their field of study under their student visa. After graduation, students can work in the United States for 12-24 months on an OPT visa (Optional Practical Training) within their field of study. At the end of the 24 months, the employer has the option to sponsor the student as they transition to an H1B work visa and into a permanent employee position.

Host a Fundraiser

You have the power to provide a top-notch education at Gashora Girls Academy to students who otherwise might not have the financial capacity to pay. 100% of students receive a full or partial scholarship, with 75% of them paying less than 20% of the cost of their tuition.

Join us in making an impact by hosting your own fundraiser! Ask for donations instead of birthday gifts, host a bake sale, or have a wine night with your closest friends. For more information on how to get started, please fill out the form below.
